Petersburg: Mike Luhr, president of Piston and Rudder Service Inc. in Petersburg, reported that Bruce Marifern's 56-foot Delta seiner F/V Freedom was due in March 1 to have a Key power hydraulic bow thruster installed.The bow thruster is a 14-inch model KP14B-2.3 and requires 26 GPM @ 2600 PSI. The FRP tube is 3/8-inch thick and is pre-machined to accept the thruster foot. A12-VDC, four-way, soft-shift Vickers control valve will operate it.While the thruster job is happening up front, a new "deflector rudder" will be installed in the stern.Also in March, Piston and Rudder Service was replacing the original KT1150 Cummins main engine in the F/V Marathon witha new "Recon" Cummins K19M engine. The original engine has 365 HP and the new engine will have 425 HP.
