A California Dungeness crab task force has been resurrected to make recommendations on implementation of a new trap limit program and other fishery issues. The original crab task force was seated in January 2009 but disbanded in January 2011 because of a lack of funds. Now the Ocean Protection Council has picked up the tab to establish the task force once again. Based on input from the original task force, a seven-tier crab trap limit became law in January 2012.
