摘要

The ever-growing use of operating conditions characterized by extreme temperatures, velocities and reactions time is a main trend in the development of today's chemical processing and technology. It has been of increasing interest to develop chemical processes which exhibit unique functional properties and potential applications in order to meet desired outcome with low cost, minimum waste and energy conservation. In this regard, plasma (the fourth state of matter) due to its exotic properties is playing a great advantageous role in many desired chemical processes required in chemical industries like combustion, chemical synthesis and pollution control. The present paper highlights the different advances made with respect to various chemical processes of importance making use of plasma as a catalyst.
