PPG Files Trademark Suit Against Sherwin- Williams

PPG Industries Inc. has filed a trademark infringement complaint against Sherwin-Williams Co.According to a report in the Pittsburgh Business Times, on Feb. 4, 2009, the suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, revolves around the phrase "The Color of Inspiration." PPG has used that phrase in connection with its paint color selection and matching system used at Lowe's stores. However, Sherwin-Williams has registered the phrase as a domain name.
