DID YOU KNOW that one of the world's most famous knives was inspired by a chocolate bar? It happened in 1956, when the inventor of the world's first snap-off blade cutter, Yoshio Okada, had a moment of inspiration after an American soldier handed him a chocolate bar. Oka-da saw the way that the segments of the chocolate bar broke cleanly, and he had a revelation to create a knife based on this same concept. An analysis of the sharp edges of broken glass further solidified Okada's idea for what would become a long-lasting invention.
