LAS Vegas is relentless. Its river of light, people and activity rages night and day, so steadily it's almost soothing. I spent time there in May at the PDRA's trade show at the National Hardware Show, and the experience was thrilling and draining all at once. If you haven't been to the Las Vegas Convention Center, where the event is held each year, let me paint a picture. It's a sprawling labyrinth dotted in spots with smallish meeting rooms and in other spots with magnificent halls with high ceilings. Row after row of vendors tend to their colorful booths, showing off new products and chatting up media people and potential customers between strips of brightly hued carpet. It's a show, in the truest sense of the word.
