When Andrew VogeL founder of Diamond Vogel Paints, first arrived in America from his native Holland at 16 years old, he dreamed of becoming a farmer. Living in Orange City, Iowa, he took a routine path to achieve this dream: He married, purchased some livestock and planted crops. However, as his grandson Doug Vogel said, Andrew wasn't good at farming. "The pigs died, and the crops failed," said Doug, who is the vice president of trade marketing at Diamond Vogel.
