Back in the 1980s, Tom Typrowicz was running his business, Accent Decorating, in Florida and using a product he found I in Germany that others wanted. "I saw an opportunity to bring that product to the States," he said. That product was a four-inch Whizz mini roller. But what makes this roller so great? "The time it saves," said Typrowicz. "You can go in and cut and trim in such a short amount of time." Typrowicz introduced the line in 1988. "I started in my garage with about 100 square feet," he said. It was just Typrowicz and his kids, son Tommy and daughter Stacy. He demonstrated his product at trade shows, which helped spread the word, and he advertised in magazines, including Paint & Decorating Retailer.
