Like the lead-based paint issue, graffiti is another social issue that can involve the paint and decorating retailer. Jill Lusk, Brand Manager, W.M. Barr, sees serious ramifications for municipalities and businesses all over the country. "Graffiti costs U.S. cities across the country millions of dollars each year to clean-up," she said. "For example, the city of Phoenix, Ariz., spends more than $6 million annually on graffiti removal. Research shows that graffiti can result in more graffiti, vandalism and crime in suburban and urban communities. The fact is graffiti is harmful to everyone-homeowners, businesses, schools, families and individuals."
