Global paint cos rush to colour auto majors

THE entry of global paint companies in the Rs 1,500-crore auto paints business is set to change industry dynamics very quickly.The 15 to 17% growth in the auto original equipment manufacturers(OEMs)market has lured companies like Nippon Paints of Japan,Korea Chemical Company,Du Pont and BASF to target this segment as they hope to snatch a sizeable chunk of the market through their global tie-ups with the auto giants.
