摘要

At present,scientists in Wolfgang Bau-meister's department(Molecular Structural Biology)are analysing biological macromolecules and cellular structures by means of cryo electron tomography.The department has,for the first time,enabled insights into living cells with a nanoscale resolution.The newly appointed director Elena Conti(Structural Cell Biology)uses X-ray crystallography in combination with other biochemical methods to investigate the molecular mechanisms that govern the transport of nuclear proteins and RNA.
