摘要

Metabolic engineering means large quantities of experiments to be performed,preferably on a very small scale.When results are satisfactory,scale-up studies will follow,including experiments on pilot scale.The pilot plant has to be useful for clinical trials,validation and marketing of the product.All of this requires bioreactors that are complying with the needs of the bioprocess industry.
