SOON after joining as the Head of operations of Snowline Chemicals, a specialty chemical company based in Mumbai, Mr. Girish Bhide was eager to improve the operational performance of the organization. Snowline's return on capital (ROC) was well below the industry average and the reduction of working capital was an urgent management priority.
