Need for rationalization of customs duty on titanium dioxide (TiO2) of customs duty used in paint industry

THE Indian Paint Association has recently taken up the case for rationalization of the Duty levied on titanium dioxide which currently attracts an import duty of 10%, TiO2 while those as used as raw material in other industries attracts a duty of 7.5%.. IPA is currently engaged in presenting its case before the Tariff Commission to bring an amicable and favourable solution to this issue.
