A Point of Care Diagnostic Revolution

摘要

Central laboratory analytical methods and high performance diagnostic technologies such as Mass Spectrometry,HPLC and DNA amplification based approaches are not applicable to rapid test application.Although integrated microfluidic devices are approaching the Point of Care (POC) market,the complexity and manufacturing challenges of these approaches makes the approval process challenging and cost per test too high for widespread adoption.A test is needed that delivers the sensitivity of a lab procedure with the user-friendly format of simple lateral flow tests.
