The now widespread use of accelerometers and gyroscopes has demonstrated how well the introduction of sensors can enhance applications and even drive new modes of engagement with computer systems. They have enabled new types of product to emerge, as Nintendo demonstrated with the Wii gaming platform a decade ago.
