Microfluidic devices consist of glass,silicon or polymer chips in which miniature channels have been fabricated.These channels are typically tens of mu m wide and deep and several cm long(fig.1).Fluid handling in such devices has many advantages.Due to their small size,only minute sample volumes(nL or pL)are required and little waste is generated.
