Immobilization of a BINOLate-titanium catalyst by use of aggregation phenomenon

Upon treatment with titanium tetraisopropoxide, trisBINOL with a rigid aromatic tether forms an insoluble polymeric aggregate, which shows a catalytic activity in asymmetric addition of diethylzinc to aldehydes.
