The contribution gives the all-round problems of pressure die casting of magnesium alloys in relation to demands of automobile and electronics industry. It describes a technology of Mg alloys processing on cold chamber machines and gives advantages and technical innovations. Several examples of pressure die castings from Mg alloys and technological data including an example of calculation of casting parameters of a casting directly in the control system of a pressure die casting machine are given. In the article conclusion there is a brief description and a figure of a holding and melting furnace at a hot chamber machine including an information about a necessity of using the protective atmosphere.
