The Asian Sleep Research Society (ASRS) is the second largest international sleep society in the world, next to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The Founding Committee of ASRS?was formed in New Delhi, India, on 9 October 1992 which led to the formation of ASRS on 16 June 1994 in Tokyo, Japan. The ASRS is an international sleep society composed of member societies in Asia, including the Chinese Sleep Research Society, the Hong Kong Society of Sleep Medicine, the Indian Society for Sleep Research, the Israel Sleep Medicine Association, the Japanese Society of Sleep Research, the Korean Academy of Sleep Medicine, the Korean Society of Sleep Research, the Taiwan Society of Sleep Medicine, the Thai Society for Sleep Research, the Turkish Sleep Study Group, and so on. The aims of the ASRS are to promote all aspects of sleep research by the organization of scientific meetings, training, education, and dissemination of information between affiliated societies.
