An ideal PCR system should be fast,inexpensive and capable of amplifying a wide range of targets in both single and multiplex formats.But the inefficient design of many existing thermocycling instruments imposes significant limitations on throughput and portability.New designs that harness natural convection phenomena offer a simple and elegant solution.
