The days are getting longer, the birds are singing, the sun's rays are warmer, our thick winter coats are disappearing into the cupboard - and tissues are appearing at our noses: springtime is hay fever time. There are more and more people whose immune systems seem to be going crazy as they are affected by harmless foreign bodies like pollen, house dust and nutritional ingredients. Chemicals are also potential sources for allergic reactions and ever higher numbers of people have allergic or hypersensitive reactions to everyday products like washing powder, textiles, cosmetics, medicines and toys.
