The single cell is the basic entity of a living organism and offers an ideal system for studying genetic factors,diagnosis or monitoring of a broad range of diseases.Despite recent advances in gene technologies combined with high throughput analysis systems,there is still a great demand for transferring or applying state-of-the-art methods to the analysis of the single cell.The QuAGSiC partners will develop methods and instruments for systematic single cell analysis being quantitative on the DIVA and RNA level.The project is funded by the Sixth Framework Program of the European Union (a total volume of more than euro 2.5 million).
