The concept and potentialities of two originalelectrochemical procedures of enzyme immobilization based onfunctionalized polypyrroles are described. A two-step methodconsists of the adsorption of aqueous amphiphilic pyrrolemonomer-enzyme mixtures on an electrode surface followed byelectropolymerization of the adsorbed amphiphilic monomers.Example of multienzyme entrapment and copolymer elaboration aswell as electrical wiring of immobilized enzymes are presented.The second method is based on the electropolymerization of apyrrole-modified biotin. The resulting polymer was successfullyused for successive attachment of avidin and biotinylated enzymes.
