THE recent opening of the new $5.2 million Gorryong water treatment plant provides a major improvement to the quality of water for Coriyong and Cudgewa residents, while the opening of Whitfield's $2.2 million Water Treatment Plant in October 2012 marked anew beginning for a town which previously endured regular water restrictions, water carting and boil water notices. Jack Timmins, process engineer with Laurie Curran Water who designed and built both water treatment plants, said the projects have been highly successful with SEW-EURODRTVE equipment used to drive the critical flocculators in the system.
