In the first of a new series visiting Britisli allotments, Jane Moore drops in on Joe Swift, who's learning how to grow his own - the hard way. Allotments are everywhere thesedays - in the news, on the internet and, of course, in every city and rural corner of the UK. Having a plot myself, I've met a fair few creative allotmenteers with wisdom to share. Inspired, I ventured further afield to explore others' stories
