Another year has come and gone and the Louisiana sugarcane industry can once again boast of new records during a year of incredible contrasts in weather, production, politics and price. While each of these factors contributed to a degree of uncertainty within the industry, the predominant attitude was to "keep on keeping on" in a year full of surprises. This article will review some of the key elements of the year and highlight how the sugarcane industry adjusted to the many changes during the year.
