Online particle sizing aids in sugar production.

The OptiSizer PSDA R installed at the Danisco Sugar Company in Nakskov, Denmark, for improving product quality and controlling costs, is described. Using digital imaging technology, the OptiSizer automatically monitors dry sugar granules and powdersfrom the production line in either a continuous or a batch mode and provides particle-size data to production line operators located in a remote control room far from the monitoring point.
