The new PL-TCM was erected under SMS Siemag's leadership on Caofeidian island off the coast of China's Hebei province. The customer is Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel, a joint venture of Shougang Iron & Steel" and Tangshan Iron & Steel. The new mill makes it possible for Shougang Jingtang to produce strips of high-quality steel grades which are mainly intended for the carmaking industry. The PL-TCM is part of a new metallurgical complex for which company also supplied a hot strip mill and two annealing lines for further processing of the cold strips. And just recently a further order has come in covering an annealing line for tin plate.
