BHP drops Olympic Dam expansion project

BHP Billiton says that it currently has no plans to develop the massive $21 billion Olympic Dam copper-uranium mine expansion in South Australia, due to a fall in global copper prices. BHP CEO Marius Kloppers said; "the right decision for the company and its shareholders is to continue studies to develop a less capital intensive option to replace the underground mine at Olympic Dam."
