Abu Dhabi completes landmark offshore gas project

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has completed an $11 billion project to process and bring to land offshore gas to meet the UAE's rapidly rising gas demand - increasing by around 15% per year. The Integrated Gas Development (IDG) will add 800 million scf/d of gas to domestic supply and marks a shift towards offshore gas to meet local demand. The offshore field at Umm Shaif and the facilities on the artificial Das Island are part of the scope of the IDG.
