摘要

In recent years, biosensors have found increased applications for environmental monitoring such as heavy metals, pesticides etc. Increasing environmental concerns and stringent regulations require monitoring of these environmental contaminants of which heavy metals are of serious concern. Copper finds extensive applications in industries and is also an essential trace element found in various foods. However, recognizing the deleterious effects of overexposure to copper, which leads to copper toxicosis, this study involves the development of a cost-effective biosensor for the analysis of copper ions in industrial effluents and food samples using immobilized urease enzyme based on a potentiometric transducer device.
