Hello and welcome to the February issue of Surfacing. Following JoBeth's kind words last month I'd like to take the opportunity, on behalf of Gearing Media Group, to thank her for the dedication and graft she has put into shaping this unique publication. I look forward to working alongside her as she begins her new venture in the US, bringing fresh and relevant content to readers from across the pond. During my six months here so far I have learned a great deal, about the diverse and all-encompassing nature of this industry, about the passion and expertise of those who drive it, and about my own determination to deliver thought-provoking and informative content over the coming months. Despite being relatively new to the world of trade, my experience at international trade shows, regional events, product launches and local company visits, has taught me the immense value of building relationships, and of maintaining a grounded perspective. Readers will notice some subtle changes over the coming months, as we continue to develop our expanding technical section to include installation features, product innovations and specifications. Keep an eye out for our new website as well — it will soon be up and running!
