摘要

Arsenic is a non-essential toxic heavy metal and is industrial nuisance around coal-burning power plants and smelters. Acute arsenic poisonings commonly result from suicidal or accidental injestion (1). The brain is rich in unsaturated lipids, and lipid peroxidation is known to produce cellular damage in the toxicity of environmental pollutants and heavy metals (2, 3). This investigation would demonstrate the amount of Thiobarbituric Acid Reactive Substances (TBARS) formed, and indicator of lipid peroxidation, in different regions of the brain, in the liver; and in the kidney of the rats.
