We thank Prof. Besselnik et al. for their comments in their Letter to the Editor as well as for giving us the opportunity to discuss the issues raised by them. We have rather long experience in the treatment of acute pancreatitis and we treated many patients with acute fluid collections formed during acute pancreatitis by conservative treatment before and after this study [1]. We agree that some of sterile fluid collections can be treated conservatively, with follow-up and proper intravenous hydration.
