THIS ARTICLE DESCRIBES THE COMMANDS FOR CALCULATING Z SCORES FOR COMMON STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING MEASUREMENTS USING MICROSOFT EXCEL. STRATEGIES FOR AVOIDING 5 COMMON PITFALLS ASSOCIATED WITH Z SCORES ARE ALSO PROVIDED.Sports media generates copious amounts of player statistics. For instance, the National Football League (NFL) lists an aggregate quarterback rating statistic that most avid fans can interpret readily despite not possessing a precise understanding of its calculation. Most certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) professionals unfortunately lack the NFL-type budgets necessary to employ a statistician. As such, the task of generating basic statistics on test scores resides among the responsibilities of the CSCS.
