GRANTS BENEFIT COMMUNITIES

For the fifth year, America's Farmers Grow Community grants will offer farmers the opportunity to donate $2,500 to a nonprofit organization in their local community. The enrollment process begins August 1 and runs through November 30. Farmers in 1,324eligible counties in 40 states can direct these grant funds to 501 (c) (3) or 170 (c) organizations. (Eligible counties are designated by USDA data as those growing 30,000 acres of corn, soybeans, cotton, or vegetables.)Over 6,000 nonprofits have benefitted since the grant program was launched by the Monsanto Fund. Fire departments, community organizations, and 4-H and FFA groups have received more than $16 million.
