Four new species of Endotribelos Grodhaus, a common fallen fruit-dwelling chironomid genus in Brazilian streams (Diptera: Chironomidae: Chironominae)

The Neotropical Endotribelos are reviewed. Four new species, E. calophylli sp. n., E. ficus sp. n., E. talaumae sp. n. and E. euterpe sp. n. are described as male and immatures; for the last two species the female is also described. The larva of E. albatum Sublette and Sasa, 1994 is described. All the new species are mining submerged fallen fruits in low-order streams in southeastern Brazil. Keys to the males and larvae of the Neotropical species are given.
