A new species of Endecous Saussure, 1878 and redescription of Endecous cavernicolus Costa-Lima, 1940 (Orthoptera : Grylloidea : Phalangopsidae)

We describe a new species of cricket of the genus Endecous and redescribe the species E. cavernicolus based on the analysis of four syntypes, six topotypes and 13 specimens collected in Vicosa, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. The male genitalia and the female copulatory papilla are described, and a combination of diagnostic characteristics is given to separate both species. The classification of these crickets as troglobitic and epigean species and the presence of troglomorphic characteristics are discussed.
