With only few exceptions, ceramic components are almost always manufactured in firing units with adapted process engineering in order to obtain optimum component properties. Ceramic kiln engineering therefore plays a key role in the manufacturing chain, especially for technical ceramics. Kiln engineering is therefore in the focus of the value-added chain and must ensure the realization of the necessary high-temperature process engineering, which embraces not only temperature and atmosphere control, but in many cases the associated chemical process engineering. In addition, it is also necessary to consider measures for saving energy and reducing CO_2.
