Supplement to the classification of Nd I lines terminating in the 4f~46s~2 ~5I state

Within the known system of levels of Nd I, additional classifications have been made of spectral lines terminating on the lowest levels of the 4f~46s~2 ~5I state. To carry out the classification, results have been used from measurements of the excitation cross sections of neodymium by the method of extended crossing beams. Detailed infoimation on the spectrum of neodymium was first obtained by King [1]: in his work, the wavelength are given for =3000 spectral lines of neodymium located in the visible and neat-ultraviolet regions of the spectrum. The paper contains a temperature classification that is useful for a preliminary analysis of the spectrum.
