摘要

South Africa's current power shortage dilemma is compounded by the fact that the Government is committed to provide 2 000 megawatts of electricity to millions of houses, as well as schools and clinics by the year 2012. Addressing the annual general meeting of the Gauteng Master Builders Association (GMBA) in Midrand recently, Hans Schefferlie, executive director of the AAAMSA Group, said 3,6 million residences, 5 131 schools and 184 clinics were at present still without any electricity. 'The Government has given a commitment to provide electricity connections to these operations by 2012,' he stated.
