South African Architecture finds its place in the world

The Phaidon Atlas of 21~(st) Century World Architecture (2008), now available locally, presents more than 1 000 works considered among the best built around the world since 2000. It includes the work of 653 architects or architectural practices, in 89 countries, across six world regions. All of the projects are presented with photographs and drawings. The atlas is described as a monumental celebration of 21~(st) century architecture. (It is huge.) It illustrates global and local trends and features acclaimed architects as well as those unknown outside their home countries and emerging architects.
