eThekwini's biggest water project to date

The Western Aqueduct project is the biggest water project commissioned by eThekwini Water and Sanitation to date and is valued at over R800 million. It is designed to address existing infrastructure capacity problems and respond to the massive growth in water demand in the municipality's western supply areas. The project is being undertaken by the Western Aqueduct Joint Venture which comprises three companies, Knight Piesold Consulting, Naidu Consulting and Stewart Scott International, acting as eThekwini Water and Sanitation's agents on the project.
