Brick producer acquires concrete business

Leading South African brick manufacturer, Brikor (recently listed on the AltX of the JSE), is strategically positioned to benefit from the buoyant trading conditions in the South African construction industry. The firm, which produces clay bricks, roof tiles, clay pipes and pavers, is planning to grow organically, expand capacity and fund acquisitions that produce related building supply products. Brikor, for example, recently acquired the Zululand Quarries Group. The group is an aggregate and ready-mixed concrete business with its own quarry and crusher operation and involved in the production of concrete bricks, blocks, roof tiles and fittings.
