An increase of the effectiveness of postcombustion of gases in the converter with liquid-phase reduction by combustion of carbon monoxide to its dioxide and hydrogen to water gas in a channel flow of gases emerging from the reaction zone formed during the counterflow interaction of the bottom fuel-oxygen and top oxygen jets was substantiated theoretically. Industrial experiments of the combined blast on 250-ton converters confirmed the prospects of the proposed method of blowing with postcombustion of off-gases.
