Calculating the Energy Parameters of Broad-Strip Hot-Rolling Mills

Most of the deformation source in hot strip rolling is in the adhesion zone, where the contact stress depends on the resistance to pure shear. If this finding is taken into account, the rolling force and power may be calculated with much greater accuracy. On that basis, effective operating conditions for broad-strip mills may be developed.
