The advantages of the given spray units for secondary-cooling systems are confirmed by practical experience. Their most important advantages are: reduced defect formation in the ingots and fewer emergency shutdowns; lower equipment and repair costs; safer production; and an expanded product range. Two-phase spray units and cooling systems may be used for both new and reconstructed equipment.
