The low-temperature stability of the steel is also relatively good: the fiber content in DWTT samples is no less than 85 percent at -40 deg C. On account of its high purity and the weak segregation of chemical elements, 03G1B steel containing 0.001 percent S and 0.03 percent C is highly resistant to cracking in media that contain H_2S: HIC = 0; the threshold stress in 720-hr holding is 0.8 sigma_y.
