It has been established that an aluminum coating does not prevent welding, does not melt, remains above the ridge layer, but has a gap at the seam of 100-200 mu m. The coating reduces the height of the ridge and makes it more uniform. As a result of welding, a diffusional layer is formed in the region of the weld seam, ensuring that the corrosion resistance in this region matches that of the pipe.
